FSLPL Evening with Friends 2020


Join us for a spectacular variety of music, talks and presentations.

The Friends of Southern Lehigh Public Library cordially invite you to join us throughout the year in attending a series of special events. We are sure that everyone will enjoy the variety of music, talks and presentations offered in this series.

Friends of the Library can purchase the individual event tickets for $8.00 per event or purchase the full series of 8 events for just $50.00 (a 20% discount).

Non-members can purchase the individual event tickets for $10.00 per event or purchase the full series of 8 events for just $64.00 (a 20% discount).

Registration required. All tickets will be advertised for sale before each event. Registration form enclosed or contact the Library’s front desk.

Wonders of the Universe – Mr. Eric Loch

Mr. Eric Loch, a member of the Lehigh Valley Amateur Astronomy Society, will take us on a stunning journey through the universe. Telescopes will be set up outside for night sky viewing after the program.

This dynamic duo will combine musical favorites across the decades with a running dialogue packed with tidbits of what was going on when                    – a delightful trip down “memory lane”. Don’t remember the words?            A sing along sheet will be provided.

Native American Stories and Teachings of the Northeast – Mr. Rob Aptaker

Native American stories are often called myths and folklore, but Native    People call them the sacred teachings. Mr. Aptaker has traveled the country gathering these stories freely shared by Native American People.

Mary Todd Lincoln – Ms. Linda Minarik

Come meet Mary Todd Lincoln, one of our best known but least understood First Ladies. Ms. Minarik is a locally well-known historical re-enactor who has been asked to present Mary Todd Lincoln at many historical societies.

A master storyteller, Mr. Kiernan will share tales that address the unexpected, the unusual, and the unheard of – stories that make us uneasy. If you have not experienced true storytelling before, here is your chance. If you have, then you know what a gift this is from the Guild and your library.

Historical re-enactor and civil war historian, Mr. Jesberger will take us back to what Christmas was like during the Civil War.
